We've arrived on party island Phi Phi! But let me give a quick update from the last blog. On Saturday we took a boat trip out to Koh Haa for some snorkelling; the sea was crystal clear so we spent hours exploring the corals and we seen tonnes of colourful fish (I'm not sure what they were but they were very pretty) and loads of blue starfish. Davie tried a free dive but forgot to blow all the water out of his snorkel tube, after much coughing and spluttering he picked himself back up and tried again this time succeeding! After a hard days graft (being on holiday is hard work don't you know!) we went for a Thai massage and oooo my goodness it was absolutely excruciating! The knead you to within an inch of your life and then they bend and stretch you into all these crazy positions. I thought my leg was going to come out of it's socket at one point and Davie said every vertebrae in his back cracked. They were so thorough and left nothing un-stretched, including your fingers. Even though it wasn't a relaxing massage we both felt stretched afterwards. On Sunday we hired another scooter and headed to Lanta's National Park, right at the southern tip of the island. We did a 2km walk through the forest that brought us out onto a beach. There was also a lighthouse which we climbed up to. After this we headed back up the coast to Klong Nin beach where we enjoyed a nice cold beverage! After our drink we headed back to Lanta Old Town where we had another explore and ate at one of the sea view restaurants. When we got back to our beach hut we decided to have a couple of drinks at a nearby bar, but nothing to heavy as we had to catch the 8am ferry. This didn't happen, 10pm, our agreed hometime, came and went but we were too busy having fun to notice. On Monday we awoke with a stonking dirty hangover, we made the ferry though and arrived on Koh Phi Phi in a bit of a daze. We somehow managed to find our hotel, after taking a huge detour, checked in and found a spot on the beach to sweat the poison out of us! The weather must have been hungover too because it decided to choose that afternoon to thunder and lightening as well as rain heavily so we had no choice but to seek refuge indoors. This turned out to be a good thing because we woke up this morning feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed after 14 hours sleep haha! Without our hangovers we were able to appreciate our resort more- it's gorgeous! We're staying in a bamboo hut in the jungle, I kid you not, we have a tree growing through our hut. We also have another hammock. The resort have a couple of private beaches to choose from so we're living like kings at the moment. Today we explored Phi Phi on foot as there are no roads. After a bit of a climb we found ourselves at the viewpoint which was lovely but not as breathtaking as the Railey viewpoint. Tonight we've just eaten barbecued red snapper and prawns which were delish! We were going to party Phi Phi style tonight but yesterday's hangover is still too fresh in our minds so we might delay that until tomorrow night!
