Hi Everyone,
I haven't done one of these in a week or so, so here is my go.
From where Lauren left off with us burning baht at the market, the following day we heading to the MBK center (counterfeit city) for burning baht part 2 and to get the last of the bits and pieces we thought where essentials. eg. Designer sunglasses, designer sandels and desinger hats. To be honest we could have getting a whole new wardrobe from there for about 50p so maybe a holiday there when we come back to England and have to start again. haha
Fully kitted we had a early night ready for our flight to Austrailia. In true Davie and Lauren style we got the airport 5 hours early. There is not alot to do in airports when you are that early........ so we decided to burn some more baht and treat ourselves to the bangkok vip lounge. It is fair to say we ate and drank enough food and beer for around 2-3 families, and feeling very full and pretty merry it was time for our plane.
The flight itself wasn't all that bad, apart from it being full of Australians. We didn't get to much sleep which wasn't ideal.
WE'VE LANDED IN SYDNEY
The first day in Sydney was quite strange. We checked into our hotel around 8ish and went for a fiesta. After a 2hr power nap we went on a guided tour of the city. Taking in The Opera house ( which is supposed to look like an orange, I dont see it), the harbour bridge (which is just a rip off the Tyne bridge), the rocks, botanical gardens and darling harbour. It is weird as everything is so close to each other.
We were still feeling a little jet lagged so didnt really take it all in properly and get lots of pics.. so we are gonna do it again. Seeing as though we're in Sydney for 2 weeks and get some pics for you guys.
After the walk we went for another power nap. Waking up evening time we decided to hit the bar next door, which had a offer of free food if you buy a drink..... our expections were not all that high but it was plentiful and pretty tasty.
They don't drink pints over here they drink something called 'scooners' which is just a bit more than half a pint. Bloody lightweights. Anyways after a few of these we headed for bed. All in all it felt like 3 days merged into 1. Very strange.
Day 2
Just a boring day of getting things sorted. Bank, Tax (boo), phones, Medicare... Blah blah blah blah.
Day 3
We needed to find a new place to stay as we had only booked in for the first 2 night. So after a quick google, and a look at the map we set off for the cheapest. lol
We are in a place region called Woolloomooloo, I kid you not!!! it is in between the city center and Kings cross area which is the old red light district and what seems to be a backpackers favourite. We have settled into our 8 person dorm room, both me and Lauren are on top bunks, which dont feel to safe but it is quite fun. Our room mates consist of 5 Germans and an Irish guy(there everwhere). Which seem nice!
Today we got up, made breakie and our butties and went to the sydney sea life center, oh my.... They all looked like Lauren hahaha. Shes sitting next to me!!!
It was just loads of fish there....... haha.....It was actually rather fun. Lots of sharks but no Great White as it would've eaten everthing else. Good way to spend the day.
Its pretty cold here today 18deegrees so wrapped up nice and warm. I hear there is a cold front back home. That's unfortunate.
Love to you all

Tina Take a look at the walls outside the pubs, they are usually tiled from half way down so people can clean the puke off easily....nice! Sydney is such fun, when the weather is better take a ferry trip to Manly. Great atmosphere. Probably feels really expensive after Thailand... Continue being very jealous of your adventure although the flights and jet lag not so much. Love ya. Xx
