"It" happened. And in slow motion.
It was just a regular day and I was cruising down a lane on my bike as one does, with my backpack in the front basket (dorky but keeps the sweat at bay!) and a guy pulled up besides me on a motorbike, grabs the bag and rides off.
I thought he was kidding at first.
And then I realised I had just been robbed.
So screaming and frantic pedalling followed, I rode to the end of the street and turned left and threw my bike on the pavement and got in a tuk tuk and we tried to follow the guy... But it was too late.
EVERYTHING was in that bag...
So off to the police station where they gave me a police report in Thai, obviously it took ages and there is also the problem that I can't read Thai. The French embassy was closed too. So I fumed for a bit, panicked, called the parents, stressed out some more and then someone gave me a coke so I felt a bit better.
BUT STILL!
It's been two days, I am off to Bangkok tonight to get an emergency passport (had to rethink my trip seeing as I can't cross any borders unless I feel like going to jail). The people at the place I was staying were really helpful though, they lent me some money and I didn't have to pay for my stay or anything until Mum and Dad sent me some cash (thanks!).
So a new adventure begins...
