As today was our last day in Torquay, and as it was a hot and sunny day, we decided to go to the beach and have a swim in the Ocean. On the way, we drove to Bells Beach which is the famous surfing beach in Torquay where competitions are held. We parked in the car park at the top of the cliff and looked down at the surfers in the Ocean. In the car park there was a Backpacker Breezer van, so Mam and Dad had a closer look at the van we lived in for 3 months!
We then drove into Torquay and parked up near the seafront. After finding a spot to leave our towels and bags, Dave, Dad and I went for a swim, while Mam had a paddle and took photos. We spent an hour or so at the beach, we sunbathed and read our books, while Mam and Dad went for a wander.
We all ate lunch at a beachfront café in the sun, then browsed in a few shops and bought some food for tea. In the afternoon, we stopped at Bell Brae Estate for some wine tasting. We were the only customers there, so enjoyed a private tasting and chatted to the lady about our travels and what we've been doing in the area. We bought a bottle of Shiraz, and Mam and Dad bought a bottle to take home for Christmas.
Then we headed back to the resort and packed our bags, ready for 'moving day' tomorrow - we're going to another timeshare resort in Mansfield, North East of Melbourne. For tea, Dave and I made meatballs (yum!) and we watched a film called 'Paycheck' with Ben Affleck and Uma Therman - far fetched but quite good!
We've had a lovely week in Torquay, and are looking forward to the next week in Mansfield!

Maria Bailey A lovely day. The beach at Torquay was stunning - lots of golden sand. A spectacular area - especially for surfers. The ocean looked very inviting, but I preferred to watch from the beach. Lovely end to a lovely relaxing week
