Today we planned to do the Great Ocean Road in one day with Mam and Dad! We were so impressed with it last time and thought Mam and Dad had to see it too after coming all this way!
We set off early-ish and drove through Lorne, where a triathlon was taking place (we decided not to stop there!) and parked up in Apollo Bay for a late-morning coffee and cake.
After that, we drove through to the Twelve Apostles, which was quite a long drive but worth it I hope! We headed to Port Campbell where we planned to stop for lunch, but on the way we had to stop behind a couple of cars that had stopped in the road. Dad quickly spotted a koala, sat in the middle of the road on the other side! Me and Mam jumped out with our cameras and managed to get a few photos before an Aussie bloke managed to shoo it away by waving his hat at it - it did not want to move! So now we're happy as we've seen wild kangaroos and a wild koala and we've only been here a few weeks!
We had lunch at a café by the waterfront at Port Campbell and Dad had 'the best burger' he'd ever had! We hit the road again and visited some more of the sights along the road - London Bridge, the Arch, the Grotto and the Bay of Islands. Since we'd already been, we chose a few of the better ones to go and see as it was already late afternoon and we still had a long way to drive back. Dad sussed out a quicker inland route to get us home and we made a quick stop in Colac at McDonalds to use the free wifi - Mam and Dad on their Blackberries and us on our new netbook computer that Mam and Dad have kindly donated to us.
We arrived back at the resort at about 8pm and watched a bit of TV before going to bed. Early start tomorrow as we have to catch the train to Melbourne to do our Neighbours tour!

Maria Bailey A really good day all round. Forgot about dad claiming to have eaten the best burger he'd ever had. Also forgot the names of the places where we stopped to eat, so well done. Your meticulous note taking has paid off!
