Pink vs Practical

Well we're still busy planning and reading but we're still unsure about how the savings are going to go over the next few months. Laura has been finding it tough in the jobs market with all of the cuts flying about and at the moment she'll be out of work when her contract ends within the next month or so. Tough times. She had an interview at Orange this week, still waiting to hear the outcome - we've both got everything crossed that it's good news!

Onto to happier news...we had a trip to Go Outdoors last weekend and spent an hour eyeing up possible presents to add to our Christmas lists! First up were rucksacks - we tried on lots (and admired how we looked as 'proper travellers' in the mirror they had out in the rucksack section!), although Laura decided pretty early on that the only pink rucksack in the shop was definitely the one for her! I wouldn't have expected anything else to be honest! I found it a bit trickier to choose between lots of similar looking bags, although the one on wheels wasn't bad, apart from the £130 price tag!

We moved onto the even more confusing world of walking sandals - again, they all looked pretty similar, and Laura wasn't impressed at having to choose shoes for comfort and practicality! And she didn't find any pink pairs....think we'll have to keep looking for now!

We've also started to plan our route through the USA in a bit more detail, having booked our two timeshare weeks in Arkansas and Vegas. More on this soon...
