Today is our last day in the UK before we set off for the USA TOMORROW!!!At times I didn't think we'd ge tot this point so it feels strange that it's finally here...but we both can't wait now to get on the plane!
We both enjoyed our final days at work last week. Thanks to everyone at Whale Hill for making it so memorable - I got lots of cards and good wishes from the staff and kids, as well as $100 to get us started this week! I'll see you all in a year!
We also had a fantastic day at our leaving party at the Pov on Saturday. Thanks to everyone for coming; it meant a lot to us both to have all of our friends and family together to say goodbye! Special thanks to Deb for our amazing cake, Mam, Emma, Pat and Martin for their contributions to the buffet, Manda and Emma for re-stocking for us all day, Kel, Julie and Ali for the decorations and Dad for playing taxi/delivery driver all day and for his speech which, although we sprung it on him slightly, went down a storm! After the Pov, we had a brilliant night at Walkabout in town, which we've just managed to get over now - definitely a day to remember!
Yesterday we had another good day at Karen and Hardy's wedding at Rushpool Hall and we wish them both all the best. We did suffer a minor setback there, involving Laura's Iphone, which met a watery end in the ladies' toilets! We were planning on using it for easy access to the internet when we're in places with free WI-FI but it's not too much of a problem - Laura's going to take one of my old, trusty Sony Ericssons as a replacement and there'll be plenty of places along the way where we can get on the internet to update you all.
Laura's going to update later and while we're away we'll do our best to blog as often as we can! Remember to keep in touch by leaving us comments on here - we'll look forward to reading them and keeping up to date with all of the news back home.

Tosh Good luck Dave and Laura...its not fair, I'm sat here writing about respectable society in Middlesbrough (there's a good couple of ironies there!) and you're off on your hols! The party and Walkabout were great and I'm sure you'll have as good a time in the real Australia as on Corporation Road! Take care Tosh
Amanda good luck you two, remember Laura that the holiday starts the minute you're through passport control and you're at the bar with a drink in your hand!! Have the most AMAZING time and update regularly so we can make our boring little lives more interesting xxxxxx
Dawn Arrrgh! I'm so so jealous! I can't believe it's actually tomorrow after all this planning and saving, and I can't even imagine how excited you must be, as IF you'll sleep tonight after the excitement of Take That aswell!
