Today we woke up late (again!) and spent a bit of time at the pool eating lunch. We got ready early and got the bus to the MGM Grand to meet T at the Lions enclosure. None of us were very impressed with the lions, and felt quite bad for them as they've been raised to sit in a glass box in a casino with people gawping at them all day. Didn't stay there long!
We had some food at McDonald's (for a change) then went clothes shopping with T at a shop called 'Ross - dress for less' - exactly the same as TK Maxx! We bought some booze in a shop and went back to T's room at The Luxor Hotel, the hotel with the biggest atrium in the world or something (it was very big!). Our plan was to drink in his room before heading to the club in the hotel - LAX, hopefully meaning we wouldn't have to buy expensive drinks once we got there! We introduced T to the game 'Power Hour' which was a huge success for all of us! Then we put on our best 'we belong here' expressions and headed to LAX nightclub and queued up in the guest list line. T had actually emailed that day to put us on the guest list but we weren't on the guy's list. We couldn't quite believe it when he let us in anyway, and even more so when we didn't have to pay! Result! It was all very exciting to be inside a big Las Vegas nightclub, so much so that T kept looking at us and shouting 'VEGAS!!!'. There was an (apparently) famous rapper performing at the club called Mims and when he came on we managed to sneak up onto the balcony into one of the VIP areas - noone batted an eyelid, so we watched the famous Mims perform in our luxurious sofa lined area (only the VIPs got to sit down in the club!).
We left the club about 1am and headed to another bar in the hotel (the hotel was HUGE). We got in free again, me as I am female (a big benefit in Vegas!) and T and Dave after they went back to T's room to find a voucher he got when he checked in! Once inside the bar we got chatting to a couple after the bloke came up to me to ask where we were from as he suspected we were from England. We were chatting to him and his girlfriend for a while before finding out they'd got married that day! He is English and she is from California so the wedding was for visa purposes, but they are planning a big Indian wedding next year. She also told me that she knew we must be English as we were drinking Stella!
We ended up in McDonald's again at 3am and then we got our bus back to our hotel (at the opposite end of the strip!) while T took the 2 minute journey to his hotel room!
An awesome night in Vegas!
