Today we finally made it to the hotel pool! We had a very relaxing few hours and enjoyed cooling off on another roasting hot day!
T went to see The Lion King on the night so we arranged to meet him at our hotel after that. So we went to the buffet at the Riviera Hotel for an early dinner. Food was ok, but not as good as at the Paris hotel the day before! The whole hotel is a bit dated and run down, full of empty shop units. The restaurant was quite nice and the food ok, it's just the rest of the hotel and casino that lets it down.
After stuffing ourselves with food (you've got to get your money's worth!) we headed over the road to 'Slots of Fun' and Circus Circus in the search for cheap blackjack and Dave finally got to play at a real Las Vegas table (and lose!).
We went back to our hotel to wait for T, then caught the bus to Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas which is the oldest part of Vegas and where it all began! We watched people ziplining over our heads down the street which looked fun, but cost $20 a go!
After more blackjack (lost again!) we found a bar in one of the casinos and got some more free / cheap drinks - we say free/cheap as techically it's free if you're playing on one of the machines BUT you have to tip after each drink (so they keep serving you free drinks), and we usually end up losing some (or all) of the $10 we put in the machines, so it works out the same as if you just bought the drinks and didn't gamble!
We ended the night by going back to Circus Circus and having another bucket of booze! Got back about 5am having successfully converted to 'Vegas time'.
