This morning we got up early and were waiting outside for our pick-up to go to Rabbit Island at 8:30. While we were waiting, the hotel manager came and asked if we had time for breakfast as it was included in the room price. It's been so long since we've had a free breakfast that we'd totally forgotten about it! He was really nice and asked our driver to wait for five minutes while they made our breakfast - omelette and baguette - and put it into boxes for us...n...

A late start for us today - our pick-up for the bus wasn't until 12:15pm and we didn't have to check out until 11:30. We enjoyed a final breakfast at the Magic Sponge, cooked by Dan the owner as all of his usual Cambodian staff are enjoying their first day off for the Cambodian New Year holiday. Yesterday, they all got their six-monthly share of the tips from the money pig on the bar and were all quite excited when it was time to break it open! So at lunchtime ...

After a very sweaty night's sleep (our ceiling fan doesn't really do much!), we had a lazy morning at the hotel...and the rest of the day followed suit! Day 2 at the Magic Sponge...we got up late today and ate breakfast at the bar while chatting to the manager, William. he's a really friendly American guy from Alaska and the perfect host for a guesthosue full of Westerners! We needed to find an ATM so he showed us where to find one that wouldn't charge us (the other one in town charged $4!) and he pointed out a few things to see in town. We headed out for a walk into Kampot on what was another incredibly hot day...

We'd booked a bus to Kampot at 12pm today so we got up early to have breakfast before checking out. The hotel owner got us a tuk-tuk to take us to the bus station and negotiated with the driver for us so that we only paid $1 which is the standard fare but they always try to get more out of you.
