9th September: Travel day: lie in then took the fancy night bus in 1st class for 4 hours along the coast from Lima to Paracas. Checked in, dipped me feet in the pool and went for dinner. At the restaurant there was a 'show' which was basically a short movie advertising Paracas whilst being taken up and down 4 flights in a metal ball (very strange).

8th September: At breakfast we met Brody who was joining our group for the next part of the tour and he came with us for the day. We walked 45minutes along the coast to the shopping centre, that I went to the previous day, spilt up to shop for an hour or so and then met up for sushi (I had Thai green curry!). Then we went to the cat park. Lima used to have lots of pigeons so they imported lots of cats but then they breed too much and now there's a park full of ...

This morning we arrived in Lima, dropped our bags off at the hotel and was finally reunited with Tobias, who had been in Quito getting a new passport. We all took the bus straight into the centre of the city. We walked around the main square and through the main shopping area. As we got to the presidents house there was a changing of the guards; a big brass band performed and there were 50+ guards. We went for lunch in china town and then headed back to the hotel...
