7th October
Last day in the desert and we started the day at 5am. Karen came in our car again and our driver, David, seemed like he'd had a good nights rest and we had safe driving all day! Hooray!
We drove through the desert towards the Chilean border and stopped at a red, white and green Laguna - all inhabited by 1,000s of flamingos. We also saw a few gizers and beautiful mountain ranges with the highest active volcano in the world.
They charged us 15bob to leave the country at the border and then changed onto a Chilean bus for the Chile border.
We arrived in San Pedro, a tiny town dependant only on tourism, covered in sand and salt and had a chilling cold shower. We found at dinner and the bar the portions were huge - beer was served by the litre!
