Survived death road!
We drove 1hour to the top of the mountain and then got kitted out with jackets and trousers and crash helmets. The first 15km was beautiful amongst the mountains on the tarmac road- for me we were going fast! Then we had to stop to pay a tax and back into the vans to drive the next 10km as it was uphill!
We then started on 'death road' which was the deadliest road in the world until 2008 with over 250 deaths per year. It was 40km and took a couple of hours because it was so rocky, we had to stop a few times on the way to give our wrists a break. Unfortunately it was very fogy for the first half, so we couldn't really see over the edge off the cliff, but maybe that was for the best! The second half was clear and very hot! It was awesome. We were then taken for lunch at a hotel and had a dip in the pool!
When we arrived back in La Paz we changed hotels and then met our new tour guide Karem and the 4 new girls; Anna and Kathrine from Germany, Sarah from Wales and Sam from Australia.
A few of us went for dinner and whilst we were in the restaurant Laura had her handbag stolen! Fortunately she just had 200bob (£20) in there but also her phone!
