The lunchtime slow cooker hadn't been slow enough overnight, causing the whole restaurant to smell of burnt steak when Allen had got in this morning, so while I was opening the restaurant he was spraying about 3 cans of air freshener around, and getting Fernando (lunchtime head chef) to walk around with pans of garlic and onions. Alice had her first shift being bossed around by me (although the only thing I boss people around on when opening is when to go home)...
