I had a horrible dream last night where I was possessed by the devil, which I woke up from and was a bit worried about going back to sleep again as it was such a horrible dream.
We were a bit later leaving the house than we had planned, but that was more because Mick and Jamie weren't up as opposed to it being us. Mick dropped us off at the bus station, but we were a bit confused as there was only the one station on one side of the road, but Mick showed how different to Stephanie he was by being like 'Oh I'm sure it will be the right one' (whereas Stephanie wanted to hang around and make sure the motel was ok).
We arrived at the bus station, and Andy took us in the wrong direction on the MAX train system, but then we realised and headed back the other way, to then get a bus to the hostel. The hostel's reception was having it's carpets fitted out, so it was a bit difficult to check in (although the carpenter gave us some of his jelly beans), but once we'd done that we went for a look around and chose a cafe for some coffee and something to eat. Alice had vegan French toast (the waitress wasn't sure what it was made from instead of egg), I had biscuits and gravy (which was actually a mushroom sauce on top of a scone) and Andy had a skillet which involved the biscuits and gravy combination as well.
Heading further down the road there was a place selling beer from taps, which you brought a long your empty bottles to and got it filled up, but they were doing free tasters, so I tried the cherry pomegranate cider, but was more excited by the range of soft drinks they had, including root beer, and a spiced apple kava drink, which I brought a cup of. I drank it pretty quickly though and so it made me feel a bit weird. The lady at the counter wrote out a list of things to do in the area, and so we decided we'd go try and find the sheesha place, but we went via a tattoo shop, where Alice discussed ideas with the guy.
When we discovered that the sheesha bar was closed, we had a cocktail in another bar instead. I had a sweet island whisky. We headed back to the hostel, and Alice and Andy brought a bottle of the cider to share, which I didn't want so I went up to the liquor store, and on the way back got a 7 eleven coffee and tried on a dress in American Apparel.
We got talking to a man in our hostel room who said he was about to head out to 'Float HQ' and told us all about floating. You basically lie in a tub of water full of Epsom salts for 90 minutes, and because of the salt, you float and are suspended with a feeling of weightlessness. It's supposed to have all sorts of benefits, and can relax, de-stress, make you focus more, and give you creative insights, and your even supposed to feel like your floating for a couple of days afterwards. On Tuesday's to Sunday's, it's open 24 hours, so I booked me and Alice in for tomorrow
When we headed out, a guy cycled past, wrapped up in a duvet, who stopped and started chatting to us, but was being very weird. Our first stop was New York Pizza, which had massive slices, but was admittedly very tasty even though I just had a margarita. It fascinated Alice to watch them spinning out the huge bases. We went back to the sheesha bar, but Alice didn't want to smoke one and so, since there wasn't much in terms of cocktails, we went back to a cocktail bar quite near the pizza shop. My card hadn't been letting me withdraw money, and so I said to the barman to try my card and if it worked make me the Pisco cocktail, but he said he'd make it anyway even if it didn't work (which it didn't)... result! The bar closed at about 12, so we went back to the hostel then.
