We flew from Las Vegas to Miami where we spent one night in a hostel on Collins Avenue. We were so knackered after being up since 3 am, that the last thing we needed were unhelpful and unorganised hostel staff, which we got! It was so bad that we upgraded to a private room so that there was so light in otherwise depressing circumstances. Luckily we had a tv so we were able to watch Debra Messings new sitcom, the starter wife, which is excellent, everyone should keep an eye out for it in the UK.We wandered down Lincoln Road Mall, a pedestrianised shopping and eating area, which was really nice, we also headed to South Beach.
The next day we headed back to the airport to catch the greyhound up to Orlando. We had to stand in the rain for an hour and a halp waiting for the bus, sounded by complete freaks, always fun!!! A mere 6 hours later we were in orlando, where we then had another bus journey, 2 hours this time to get to our hostel in Kissimee. Luckily we met 2 really nice guys who were so friendly and helpful, our knights in shining armour. One of them, Patrick, worked at Seaworld and even offered us a discount on tickets to there! THe other guy was totally fit and was from Williamsburg and had a passion for shopping at Harrods-Wow! Even the bus driver pitied us and gave us free transfer tickets when ours ran out after 2 hours!
The hostel is an old hostel which has been transferred into a hostel, it's on quite a main road and so is surrounded by restaurants and shops. That night we discovered Cici's where for $7 you get all you can eat pizza, pasta, salad and desserts, wow!!! Whilst trying to find discounted tickets to the parks we met a complete filf who introduced us to his friend Kim who gave us 2 day passes for Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios for half the price!!! So we were pretty pleased.
Our first stop was Magic Kingdom , which we were all so over excited about!! After exploring all the different lands and going on all the excellent rides (we wont bore you with all the details). We also went on all the kids ones such as 'It's a Small World', which are always the best, then we watched the parade. We saw all of our favourite characters, which you can see from the photos, in our prime position next to the castle. We also queued up to meet Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse-WOW!!! We even went inside there houses! Who would have thought that at 22 we would be so excited!!!!!
On our last day in Orlando we went to Disney MGM Studios, which was absolutely amazing! Rather than rides it has a lot more shows, such as Beauty and the Beast live, condensed but with all the classic songs to sing along to. Our favourite one was the Little Mermaid show, which had all the songs, as well as puppets of all the fish and special effects, such as rain and mist so you felt like you were actually in the story, so cool! There was also another parade, all the characters rode around in their cars, again you can see everyone in all the pics.Lau and Sami loved the Aerosmith rollercoaster which was really fun and fast, even though they had heard it was really slow and boring. The highlight of the day was when we were taught how to draw Daisy Duck. After being skeptical about whether our pictures would resemble we were surprised as we now want to frame them!!! We were really lucky that both days spent at the park were dry and lovely and hot, which surprised us after our first day where it rained the whole time.
