With a full nights rest behind us, we began our day on yoga mats strengthening our bodies while reflecting on our gratitude of having such a wonderful experience in this country. The Yoga Barn has a delicious and California-esque cafe where we enjoyed veggies juices, wheatgrass shots and a straight from the garden healthy breakfast. We shared our table with a lovely couple that gave us invaluable advice regarding our travels to come.
On the way back to our bungalow we made the necessary visit to The Monkey Forest. Surrounded by banyon trees, streams and a beautiful forest, the temple is protected by what seems to be thousands of monkeys. Again, Shawna attempted a photo opt with one of these cheeky monkeys only to be lunged at and sent off running.
Being our last day, there was no time to rest. We got ready and headed off with Catrina and Bedu to see two very unique temples. We drove high up into the countryside to Ulun Danu Temple which is surrounded by Lake Beratan. This temple is very famous and pictured on many Bali advertisements and artwork. Being some of the only blonde haired westerners many of the visitors have ever seen, we again relented to pose for photos. The Tanah Lot temple was our next stop which is on the edge of a cliff over the ocean. We timed it just right to watch the sun set over the temple while drinking fresh coconut cocktails.
Our long drive home was spent laughing and reminiscing about the last few days in Bali. The many memories made and our new friendships were more than we ever could have anticipated. We love Bali!
