Heaping plates of Mie Goreng, a typical dish of "fried noodles" was how we started the day. We again went to the market to make a few final purchases before heading off to the Bukit Peninsula. It is about an hour drive from Seminyak so we hired Gusti to be our driver for the day. Gusti is a lovely gentleman that took to answering our many questions very well. On the way out of town we were dropped off at a store with scarves and trinkets as high as the ceiling. We made out like bandits and even received free dessert that we ate in an ankle deep dining pool.

Uluwatu Temple was our first stop. This temple is also known as The Monkey Temple because many monkeys inhabit the grounds. Shawna and I soaked up the scenic vistas, explored the temple and took many photos with men, women and children because of our blonde hair. We tried to get photos next to a couple of monkeys who thought it would be fun to try to snatch Shawna's sunglasses and my hat. This caused quite the scene and was very comical.

After Uluwatu, we made our way to the legendary surf beach Padang Padang where we basked in the sun and splashed in the crystal clear water.

Jimbaran Beach is known for sunsets and seafood dinners which we were not going to pass up. The beach was lined with tables right on the sand, the sun was setting and Balinese dancers were performing. We were advised to avoid the Balinese liquor Arak but knew we needed to try the Arak Attack anyhow. We feasted on fresh king prawns and grilled squid.

Gusti delivered us home where it took every ounce of our will power to muster up the energy to get ready to check out the local night life. We ended up having a blast at the gorgeous resort Potato Head and at The Sky Gardens. Crazy Aussies!
