Bula!!! Wow i thought Thailand was fabulous but this place is pure paradise! I took the 4.5 hour ferry ride to blue lagoon which stops near the islands and the locals come and collect you on their little boat as to not damage the coral reefs! We were greeted by all the staff singing a welcome song on the beach and handing us fruity drinks! Although this place caters for backpackers, its more like a hotel, the dorm rooms are fantastic, you get a flower on your bed that's made daily, towels and air con! The hut rooms have luxury bathrooms with open air showers! The restaurant is on the beach and has a sandy floor! I am already friends with Luke the bar manager who has given me a bottle of wine for the price of a glass! Before dinner, we sat on mats whilst the locals performed a musical ceremony and handed us bowls of 'cava' to drink which relaxes you!
I met Andrea from the Czech republic and her Italian boyfriend who cracked open a bottle of alize, they were working in Sydney but are soon moving to Perth. We had a little flutter on the crab racing but mine was more like the tortoise than the hare. Josh the american dive instructor is taking me out diving for my birthday although he did say this after the sambuca!
The hammocks on the beach make you feel like you're on shipwrecked or survivor without the cameras! Mum you'd love it here! Even though were in the middle of the pacific ocean, the seas very warm and colourful fish come up and swim round your legs! This is the first place I feel confident about leaving my precious iPhone on the beach whilst I go for a swim!
Before dinner we did a Fijian dance which consisted of a lot of bottom wiggling! Everyone in my dorm seems to be in bed by 10 so my 2am finishes ensure I tippy toe past the 7 people but I'm sure they must want me evicted!
