A 1 hour drive, 2 hours on the bus, 11 hour wait at Melbourne airport, 6 hour flight and a laid back fijian transfer later and i finally arrived in fiji! I met a lil eminem lookalike from melbourne who took me to the pub which made things easier! I noticed the Cigarette ashtray in the arm rest and thought 'i remember my mum smoking on planes when i was very young, wonder if were gonna make it' ha ha

Well the suns been out in force all day but hearing the storms on their way! Mums packed me up with a first aid kit that rivals any specialist in the medical field!

I arrived at 'smugglers' resort to be greeted by many welcoming faces and a porter to take my bag to the beautifully clean 4 bed dorm which I am sharing with a guy from hong kong who is now snoring very loudly! I decided against the 35 bed dorm! Met Gemma from Scotland by the pool and we went for lunch before she took me to a 'give and take book shelf' in her hostel, although I was unable to give anything more than a 2 week old uk magazine, I appreciate Fijian lonely planet and crime book I have now claimed!

The evening fire show was impressive and orre from London showed off his magic hands after I laughed at him for doing east coast aus and missing out whitsundays and Fraser! Just met a guy who flew into Melbourne florida instead of australia, doh!!!

Fiji has 320 islands and I have chosen the 'yasawas' to explore! While Fiji once had a fearsome reputation as the cannibal islands, paradoxically it is now known for it's easy going and friendly people! It became a British colony in 1874 and still has Liz on the currency!
