Hi Folks

Just to let you know I am currently without my phone and camera. Oh dear. Yes indeed. We have spent the last two days in the capital of Turkey, Ankara. We arrived yesterday after a night bushcamping on the edge of the city. Two years ago I went to the Bodrum peninsula (when I broke my hand!) for a holiday and met a guy called Tevfik. We have kept in touch ever since and he is studying at Ankara University . The truck spent the day outside the Pakistan embassy whilst Steve and Kirsty sorted out our visas so I arranged to meet Tevfik and six of my friends came along for the ride! We all ended up getting a hotel and jumping ship for the night which was an extremely wise decision as the rest of the group ended up back at the same bushcamp on the edge of the city again with no showers!!

To cut a long story short although we had paid for a comfy bed and hot hower (eight pounds) 3 of us ended up going back to Tevfiks friends house...we had to be back at the truck again this morning at 9am so we got a taxi...Ä° threw my bag in the back of the taxi only to find when we reached the truck that  had infact thrown my bag into a bucket of water which is the last thing had expected to find in the back of the taxi!!

So they are currentrly drying out, the truck folk think they will both be fine but if Ã„° dont reply to texts etc for a few days you know why...! Other than that life is good, Ankara has been very warm and very Muslim but we need to get used to it as Ä°ran is coming up in a few days...we should be there on the 13th...

We are leaving Ankara in an hour so will catch up properly soon hopefully with photos...
