Kalbarri national park looked like a stereotypical Grand Canyon, massive orange layered walls, carved from an old river! The drive down to the canyon was tough on the old Impreza! With 4x4 speeding past like there were no bumps on the dirt track..!
The size of the canyons made by the Rivers was amazing, would be like seeing the Thames empty and dried out! It took about 45 minutes to climb down to the bottom, so we found a little cave and had a peanut butter sandwich! We decided to go on a little trek down the canyon where it actually turned into a river, still with these towering layered walls either side. We made it as far as we could and started half climbing along the walls, slowly shuffling round.. About 15/20 minutes later, still amazed none of us actually fell in.. We had to draw our fun to a end when it curved and there was literally no where to go! So danny jumped in, swam back and left us his clothes to carry around the edge again!
We must have been walking in total for about 4 hours, in the heat and up the canyons, got back to the campsite, had a beer and passed out! Not a bad day!
