Sydney on the whole was largely unimpressive.. we visited the city centre, went to the harbour and got the standard opera house and bridge photos but the city itself didn't really feel like much was going on. We ended up following the happy hour deals along the harbour, bar to bar. But the place felt way too corporate for me. Now Bondi where we stayed along the coast was busier with more going on, more backpackers and more of a drinking scene. The temperature was around 22 degrees. A lot better than NZ and plenty of people surfing even though it rained a little.. the walk along the coast from Bondi was nice and I even got to meet a little pug pup with tonnes of energy! We came across a weird cemetery on the cliff which you actually had walk through to carry on the coastal walk. Some serious money spent there, more like fancy tombs than your traditional headstone. I also went for my first run in 5 months along the beach in the rain, only 20 minutes but thought I was going to pass out in the way back.!
