Kya Travels
We got up at 3am this morning, finalised our packing, and then Darren made a pot of tea while I cooked up some scrambled eggs. Dad arrived right the minute I was about to dish up, and we all had some breakfast. Then we headed off to Tullamarine airport. We talked all the way up about families, especially all the things with Darren's new-found family. When we got to the airport, we checked in and went through security and waited around for a while until we were allowed to board the plane. The day was quite overcast and it was so beautiful when we went over the clouds into the sunshine. The clouds looked like an ocean. We both had a very small snooze on the plane before landing in Sydney.
We went and claimed our bags, then sat down and waited for Eddy’s plane to get in, which had been delayed. When she got there, we went and found the P&O representative, and she took us to some seats to wait for the next bus. While we were waiting we got talking to this old lady and her mother, who were also going on the cruise. It was pretty funny because she kept starting and ending her sentences with "On Board The Ship", and Darren and Eddy were texting each other about how the ship they’d been on must have been the Titanic. It was pretty funny. Then we went onto the bus and got taken to the ship. We checked in on the dock, then waited for Eddy’s friends. We met Leigh and Steph, then left Eddy with them and boarded the ship. We went and found our cabin, and we were both pretty knackered by then, so we had a little snooze. Then Eddy rang our room, and I went and met her on the top deck by the pool, and met their other friend Nava. We all went to the “Plantation Restaurant” for lunch, which was a massive buffet place. Halfway through the meal Darren woke up and came and met us there. Then we went for another snooze. I was going to meet up with Eddy and that again, but couldn’t find them, so I just went back to the cabin. Eventually they rang us and we arranged to meet for dinner at the Waterfront Restaurant, which is the other free restaurant on board the ship. The food was so good! After dinner and a few drinks there, we went to 'connexions bar’ where they were doing Karaoke, and had a few cocktails. We told the entertainment staff that it was Eddy’s birthday, and they got her up to sing “Mamma Mia”. It was pretty hilarious. Then when the karaoke finishes the lady hosting it, Brooke, came and sat next to us and had a chat, because she wanted to know why we kept saying “On Board The Ship!” We also convinced her to work it into the presentation at the Marquee later that night. After a few more cocktails, we headed over to the marquee and watched their introduction type show. It hadn’t started when we walked in, but the house band were playing ‘No More Blues’, which was pretty exciting! The head of entertainment lady introduced herself, and when the entertainment crew came on and introduced themselves, they all said “On board the ship” in their speeches, and we cheered them pretty loudly! Then there was a magician act who did a bit of a mini show, as a teaser to his main show on Saturday night. By the time that was done, Eddy was so smashed, and Steph had to take her back to her room. Nava, Leigh and I got on the stage for a few photos, then we all waited for Steph to come back and went back to Connexions. We had a few more drinks and imitated some old people dancing, and made up some pretty cool moves from them! Then we went and borrowed a pen from reception, and drew “On Board The Ship” on Eddy’s head. After a few drinks back at Connexions, we went up to the top deck to The Attic which is the nightclub on board the ship. We had some more cocktails, and tried to help Leigh pick up the white dress girl, but he was a bit too nervous, because there were too many guys around her all the time. After a bit of dancing and laughs, we went out onto the deck and looked at the water for a bit, before Darren and I went down to bed.
