Kya Travels
We woke up today, packed up our bags and went to check out. We left our luggage at reception, where we also met Pancho, then we went for a walk together down to O'Connell street to check out the bus times for Pancho and Nina to catch to the airport that afternoon. After that was sorted we walked through Temple Bar and went to see if that market was on again (which it wasn't, maybe its just once a week) then circled back around. We passed a craft shop, which had a massive robot Johnny number 5 from Short Circuit, so we had to go in for a look! He was only €1,500 or so too! :P They also had some very cool clocks, in the shape of a cuckoo bird (cuckoo clock), an old man (grandfather clock), and a fly (time flies), which were very cool! Might think about getting one! We had a chat with the girls working there about the Christmas Eve busking session that Bono from U2 does every year for charity, and they gave us a recommendation of a pub to go to, that some of those Dublin based musicians often drink at, called Whelans, so we decided to go for a walk up there. It wasn't too close, but we walked about 15 minutes up there anyway, to find it was closed! So we went to a place across the road called Against The Grain, which was a very cool place, and had a pretty big selection of GOOD beers and micro-brews. So we got a coffee. Too much beer lately! After our drink we walked back down to O'Connell street and to the Millennium Tower where we met Nina who had just got back in from Galway. We all walked together in to Temple Bar to find some lunch, and went to Quays Restaurant where I got a delicious vegetarian Caesar salad with deep fried Brie, and Darren got some fish and chips with mushy peas. After a chat there we left the restaurant and said our last goodbyes to Pancho and Nina, then Darren and I headed back to the hostel. We picked up our bags, collected Larisa's phone charger from her room, then hung out a bit and put our new Ireland stickers on the guitar, which is now looking amazing, then left. We walked down to the bus stop, where we just made it in time and jumped on the bus to take us to Galway. We spent the two and a half hours just listening to music and using the wifi before we arrived into Galway. The bus pulled into the station, which was literally next door to our hostel. So cool. So we went in, checked in, then went up to our room, where we found Larisa in the double bed! We put our things onto the bunks then had a chat for a while until Sean got back from the movies. It was apparently his birthday, and Larisa had bought an apple pie and candles, so we sang happy birthday to him, then hung out a while having a chat. After a bit, we headed downstairs and cooked up some pasta and garlic bread for dinner, which was pretty simple and tasty, then Larisa and I hung out in the room while the boys went out for beers. When they got back we spent the night drinking, playing guitar and writing silly songs, and just had a very fun drunk night before Larisa passed out on the bed, and Sean was falling over his feet, so we decided it was time to sleep.
