Kya Travels
We slept in a while today, then woke up, looked at the time and rushed to get ready, as we'd planned to go to the movies with Ady and his girlfriend Kasha, and it was already the time that the movie started! We walked down to the film rest and snuck in. We walked around the back of the seats and around to the other side where we found them and settled in to watch the rest of the short films. There were a lot of depressing ones today, as well as a few against even it out, including 'rabbitland' which was still kind of depressing but still funny in a weird kind of way. It was an animated film that looked like it was made of clay, about the "pink rabbits of rabbitland, who had no brains, only holes in their heads, and every day they put a blank piece of paper into the holes in their heads and take a journey far away to put the paper into the election box, then they return home, but can't sleep because they have no brains, so they watch the election results on the TV." It was a weird but cool one! Another good one was the 2-minute percussion piece. Only the percussion instruments were actually just a line of girls bums being slapped! The last one helped end a run of depressing ones with a funny one. It was an animation of what was supposed to be Tom and Jerry (Thomas and Jeremiah, who are lovers) in their old age, being interviewed. Tom pretends to die to get sympathy from Jerry when he finds out he's being interviewed without his knowledge, then Jerry spends the rest of the film trying to revive Tom, then when he fails, gets out a mousetrap and goes to kill himself (Romeo and Juliet style!), but Tom saves him and they live happily ever after! So at least it ended on a happy note! After the film the four of us walked down to the rock club, Tirana Rock, for a beer. The place was all decked out in Halloween decorations, which was pretty cool, but annoying as we were leaving on the day of Halloween! Damn! The ace was still cool though, they had vinyls hung up on the wall and rock posters everywhere, and a stage with instruments all set up in the corner. After a few beers we got on the stage for some photos, because I wanted a photo with the sign 'Tirana Rock', but covering the R to make it 'TIANA rock!'. Yeah, I'm pretty funny. So I got my photo, then the four of us got some photos being rock stars on the stage too! Then we headed off back towards the hostel as Ady and Kashas shift was about to start. Halfway there we said goodbye to them and went to get some cash out, then went for a pizza each at Big Bite before going back to the hostel. We got a beer and had a chat with a bunch of people from Scotland who had just checked in. Darren and Ady played some guitar, and Ady was giving Darren lessons on how to play lead. We hung out having a few beers, playing guitar and chatting to people for a while before heading back up to bed.
