Alright, so my lovely and dear friend Kaci had a internship with a Senator (how cool is that?) for the spring semester last year. So, of course, if any of my friends live anywhere that is interesting I am going to visit them.
So that's exactly what I did!
I stayed for a few days and used frequent flier miles to get there so it was an awesomely cheap trip!
Unfortunately Kaci had to work during the day, but I am quite good at entertaining myself. She did take a break in her busy day to give me a tour of the capitol.
I saw all the normal stuff in DC... monuments, Arlington, White House, Capitol....shopping malls...
Let's see, what else. We went out one night and something really strange happened. So, it's DC so of course there is a large international population present. I mean, duh. And her roommate Virginie happened to be Canadian. We tried to go to a bar, a bar they routinely go to, and the bouncer man said that he couldn't accept international IDs except passports. Who wants to carry around their passport when they are drinking?
No one!
That's asking for trouble.
So we regrouped at the apartment and went somewhere else. I played darts. I suck at darts.
OMG and of course one day we ate cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes. Red velvet, pumpkin, and cherry blossom. If I had to say what heaven tasted like, I think it would be those cupcakes that I referenced.
Yeah, definitely.
