Hi everybody, all we've really done over the past few days is lie in the sun and do a bit more snorkelling. Sunday morning we sat on the beach for a little more then we caught the boat over to Koh Phuket, the biggest island in Thailand. We spent the night in Phuket town, apparently in the same guest house that was used in the film 'the Beach' as the place where the main character (Leonardo DiCaprio for those who don't know) stayed. It was a bit minging/crappy in the film and let me tell you it wasn't much better in real life. We went across to the other side of the island the next day cos that's where all the beaches are, and boy are there miles and miles of white sands, very easy to just sit on in the sun. We hired a motor bike one day and visited a few different beaches up the coast, and hired a mask and flippers the next day and went snorkelling round the headland of the beach nearest where we were staying. There were loads of different coloured fish, very similar to when we went snorkelling on Phi Phi but the visibility wasn't as good, and there were loads of wierd jelly fish. Anyway we're now in a town called Surat Thani on the east coast waiting for a night boat across to Koh Phangan, after a very long journey that got us here too late for a daytime boat.
