our plans for the day changed as it was a bank holiday so everything was shut. our bus left at lunch time so we spent the morning mucking around. it was a short ride to Munich. we spent some time getting our bearings of munich and sussing out what we wanted to do during our stay. we found a chinese buffet where we could finally eat some vegetables. we were amazed at how high people stacked there plates- and we thought we were greedy.

we walked down to the train station where they have a couple of clothe stores next door. i (krystle) bought a couple of things. we had lunch then walked to the Mirabell garens and waited till it was time for our Salt mine tour. the tour lasted 4hours during the drive to the salt mines we got a full commentary. we stopped at the bottom of a mountain-at the top was The Eagles nest (hitlers former conference center) there was clouds around the top of the mountain ...

we walked to Mirabell gardens which was laid out in 18th century by a Prince Archbishop for his mistriss, the gardens also featured in The sound of music where they sang Do Re Mi. We got up early and caught the train to Werfen which was a 50minute train ride. Once we arrived in Werfen we caught a shuttle bus up to the ticket desk of the ice caves. The scenery was beautiful as it was very mountainous. Once we arrived at the ticket desk we were pretty pleased with ourselves as we had saved 10€ by researching how to get the train and shuttle rather than using a tour company.
