Well we did it!!!

After killing time in Brisbane and then a bloody long walk with the backpacks to find the campervan place, and then a long wait for all the donkeys (bloody French!!!) in front of us to sort things out we finally had our campervan!!!

As Becky is doing all the driving it was only fair that i do the navigating. That was a mistake. Don't ask the girl who can't tell the difference between left and right to navigate. Also in my defence, the route map was talking rubbish!!! If any one is ever trying to get out of Brisbane to the gold coast there is no M1 in central brisbane, you need the M3 which later turns into the M1, not being suzi satnav you can see why i would be confused there.

After some sterling driving by Becky (campervan juddering everytime it got to 100Km/hr not withstanding - do not panic parents we should have been doing 110Km/hr) we finally arrived in Byron Bay. Have i mentioned how much i would like to live here?!! Golden Beaches, clean waters, beautiful scenery. Oh and wait a minute hundreds of 18 year olds on 'schoolies week'. Think Newquay after exam week in the UK. We feel very very old!!

Still stuggling to get our body clocks in sync. Not helped by the incredibly uncomfortable 'bed' in our camper. We have the Soft Serve Machine (hence the Mr Whippy thing on the side) not sure if we should be offended or not!

Have been to the beach today, lovely lovely lovely. Except for the sand storm. Don't mind the odd bit of sand at all but this was taking the biscuit. Will be washing sand out of places for weeks to come.

Oh well. Back out into the sun we go.
