I'm leaving in two days. Do you know how unbelievably scary it is to say that…err read it?
Two days!
Everyone is asking me 'So are you ready yet?' Ready to leave behind my best friends and my family? Ready to venture into a foreign country where I don't know a single soul? Ummmm….I sure hope so.
Every time someone brings up the airport, I'm like "shhh! I still have time!". And I'm going to make to best of it before I leave. This week flew by and I still have a bunch of little things to do. I made a lot of appointments on Thursday (which is the day I leave). I was very strategic in my planning…since my flight doesn't leave until 11:50pm, I know I would go crazy sitting around all day so I made a list of things to do during the day to keep my mind off things. That day is going to be messy, especially since so many people are taking me to the airport…
The airport is a very interesting place to observe people…it can either be the happiest place to be, or one of the saddest. For me, I think it is going to be both. Of course I'm going to miss everyone back home, but I also think this year is going to be amazing (*fingers crossed*). Sometimes I forget that the whole point of going to Australia is school…I am easily distracted by the sunshine, beaches, and possible kangaroo sighting.
I technically should be packing right now….my clothes are everywhere! It's extremely difficult to decide what to 'keep' and what to 'toss'. Mind you, two fifty pounds bags + a carry on is pretty decent. I don't care if I go over the weight either, I'm convinced I need to take everything I own haha.
I think I have everything pretty much figured out by now. I just got confirmation from my school that I will have a driver pick me up at the airport and take me to my new home for next nine months. That's such a huge relief….there is nothing worse than walking off the plane and then trying to figure out where the hell you are haha.
Alright, I really should get back to packing/unpacking/repacking!
