But Mom, cant I stay just a little more?!
Cartagena, Cartagena De Indias (Distrito Turístico Y Cultural), Colombia
Well I arrived safely to Cartagena, one of the nicer touristy beach parts which also has a really developed city and a cool historical part as well ( I'll be able to tell more once I see that area but I know there's a castle!). I searched around and priced hostels and finally just chose a pretty cheap one with AC and breakfast (after about an hour walking around in the heat i just wanted to put my stuff down and go to the beach!)
I love it here and Im pretty sure all my friends and family would, too. Its touristy but NICE. Honestly it kinda feels like San Diego or Florida but in Spanish. I feel so safe, and theres such a mix of black white and brown people that you have no idea who is foreign or local... My waitress was blonde with blue eyes but obviously Colombian. Its all nice hotels, the historical part I'm going to explore tomorrow and of course the beach :-), which is nice and clean... There's a lot of rocky parts that you can walk on or sit.
So basically I'm HAPPY to be finally seeing more, doing stuff, being at the beach... I just hope I can sleep with all the saturday night noise from outside. I get it, your cars have horns and you like salsa music!!

Danielle Ok, so I have a few (a lot of) questions: How do you feel about your Spanish now? Do you think the Portuguese has influenced it? Are you still conformable speaking Spanish after so much time away?
