This morning has been the perfect day. The weather is amazing! Hot and sunny.
We woke up at 7 with Niki, for some reason, singing Kale's favorite song "the bear went over the mountain" haha thanks Kris and Randalin. We packed up all our things. Check out was at 11 so by 750 we were at the pier in search of a taxi boat. We found a guy willing to take us for 2 hours in his long tail boat for 1000 Thai baht. Most of them charge 1500-1600 for 3 hours. We ended up being gone for 2.5 hours and still only had to pay 1000! $1 Canadian is 28.33 baht.
We set out in our old rickety longtail boat and went to Phi Phi Ley. Here we got to follow in Leonardo Dicaprio's footsteps as we walked along the awesome beach from the film "the beach". Normally you have to pay 200 baht a person for this but when we got there nobody from the park was there. Actually hardly anyone was there. We nearly had the beach all to ourselves. When we were leaving in our boat the person from the beach park was returning to his booth to collect money.
Our next stop was a gorgeous lagune here we swam around for a little while in the almost hot turquoise water surrounded by massive limestone rocks on all sides. It was the coolest place ever to swim. We could have stayed all day!
When we were ready we climbed back into our boat and were off again. This time going close to Viking cave. A large cave in the side of the limestone. Inside there are large bamboo scaffolds to the roof of the cave. Here they harvest swift bird's nests. With the nests they make soup which is a Chinese delicacy. We could have gone inside to explore but we had a ferry to catch and couldnt risk missing it!
After the cave we went to another beach and swam around waiting to see if any monkeys would come down from the trees. None came so we left for the next monkey spot around the corner.
There they were, around 10 little adorable monkeys running and jumping, play fighting, and um....making new monkeys. We went onto the shore and it was like being inside a cage at the zoo. These little b*****s were afraid of nothing! They were running around us and coming so close you could touch them (if you weren't afraid to lose a finger!)
We watched them play for awhile and took some video and headed back to the pier.
We walked to the shop where we had previously found the cheapest ferry tickets for Koh Lanta and got ours. Then it was time to grab our bags, check out of the room and head back down to the pier for our ride to the next adventure.
We checked into the mango house on Koh Lanta. Our room is way too nice! Gorgeous house on stilts right over the water with a balcony looking right at the water and 9 islands. So amazing! No wifi in room just at the restaurant out front so if you don't hear from us much we are enjoying our time relaxing by the water and will post when we can.

Kels Thanks Kyle, now your mom and I have "The Bear Went Over the Mountain" song in our heads too. Haha.
Ed Murphy I wonder if the empty beach was because of the earthquake and subsequent sunami's!!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!!
