This morning we got up and took a "water taxi" aka. a little speed boat, to Abel Tasman National Park. It was a fun, fast and furious little ride and once there we done the Pitt Head hike. It was very beautiful. The sun was shining. There were weird looking squiggly trees. ANOTHER tree type for the repetoire. Some of the views down onto the little hidden beaches were just like paradise. Took about an hour to complete, trekked past lots of campsites, it would have been great to get a tent and spend a few days stoatin about in there. After the walk we had an hour or so to chill in the sun on Anchorage beach before the "water taxi" came back to collect us. A toasty, sunny day so topped up on my already b****in tan....Once we got back to the hostel it was time to leave and start the journey to Westport. Rhona and I weren't actually booked on the bus...we had booked the wrong date but we winged it and squished on in. Done a few stops on the way but it was alot of drive time. Had a bit of speed dating on the bus to bond with our fellow bus mates before a big party night tomorrow. It was funny but actually got me a bit motion sick so I fear I wasn't the best date, but not to worry. Arrived in Westport about 5pm. The hostel was really cool, the guy who runs it has a sweet little life, meeting lots of people all the time, running a wee hostel and diving for sea snails - MASSIVE gadjis. Rhona and I had to re-evaluate all our bus dates and got them all booked up, hit the supermarket for some food. Alot of people were then heading to a local pub but, there was to be a big party the following night and funds can only be stretched so far so we declined. We were in a room of about 10 girls and we had a tv with tuns of old movies kicking about. A fair few of us stayed behind and had a movie night watching Bridget Jones and Cruel Intentions. Bunch of losers. Never seen Westport at all really, arrived late and the following morning the bus left sharp. No idea what that place has to offer. Hopefully nothing.
