Today was a very busy day. We got up right away and headed to the airport. We got on a tiny turbo prop plane and flew to Kangaroo Island (KI). Once we landed at the tiny airport with only one gate, we met our tour guide and started our whirly-whirly tour around the island. First we stopped by a sanctuary and saw koalas, kangaroos and parrots. There were a few koalas who were awake and poseing for us. The kangaroos were just relaxing. The tour company treated us to some nice food and great information. We then headed out and saw some echidnas walking on the side of the road. Vione bay, admiralty arch, and the remarkable rocks were just amazing. There were NZ fur seals frolicking in the waves and sunning on the rocks. We ended the day on the grass plain watching the kangaroos eat at the end of the day. Mark our tour guide is wonderful and knows everything about KI. We were touring with Charles and Angela from Hertfordshire inthe UK. It was like a photo safari today. I've put photos on our albums so check those out.

Alyssa FUN! Why didn't you hold a baby koala?? I would have wanted to, I dont care if it pees on me
Alec and Mary Your trip to Kangaroo Isl sounded like fun. Passing on holding the koala was the right think to do; they look cute but they can do damage. We arrived in Orlando on the 26th and have been enjoying weather in the 70s.
Meridith Sounds so fun! Thinking of you guys every day! Hmm, what does a kangaroo compare to? A horse? A Llama? A big dog? I really cannot imagine--did you see one run or hop? Do tell, how is Australian food?
Jeanne So glad you are having fun!
