I've covered a little over 80 miles. About 20 of them were on a bus since the location I was headed to yesterday was difficult to reach in the floods. Today's hike was calmer. Lovely weather and gorgeous landscape. Walked through vineyards, olive groves, grain fields, forests, and fields of wild flowers.
Survival skills are activated more in hostels than on the road. Doing laundry can be cutthroat, and everyone jockeys for space.
Since I traveled by bus a day ahead of the people who began the journey with me on St. Jean, it's been a bit strange. We had developed a sense of comraderie traveling together. With the new group of people there are fewer English speakers. My old crew were scattered in yesterday's weather. Some remained in Pamplona. Two people I walked with all yesterday had to head much further along the trail by train since they had only 2 weeks for the trip. I miss the old crew but am meeting new people. Tonight's hostel is really nice. Smaller rooms, cleaner, and newer than the last 2 nights. They even serve breakfast, which I can really use. Only two more energy bars left.

Neil Here's hoping you can replenish your energy bar supply. Are there opportunities to do that in any towns you are visiting? If not, hope you can halve what you have left in smaller and smaller pieces so that they last the entirety of the trip. Thanks for the updates. It's a pleasure to read them.
Susan What a brother! Smaller pieces, ha. There will be nothing left of you. Can we mail you any energy bars?
Marla Falk Duran What fun to read about your adventure. I am reading the older blogs too. I guess there was a torrential rain and you opted to take bus for a bit. Appreciate the pictures too.
