Walked 40 kilometers yesterday and 29 today. Last night I stayed in a hostel connected to the church in the photo with the storks.
The distances didn't feel too bad but when I took my boots off I noticed that a small blister on the bottom of my heel (which I was treating as advised) has turned into a huge one that started to get infected. Too much information, but this might effect the next few days. I hope not since I need to keep making progress.
I don't know where the people I meet in the hostels end up the next day. There aren't many other places to stop each day, and I know I 'm not walking faster than everyone.
Most days people ask me why I'm hiking the Camino and the clearest answer is to learn how to be in the world without a partner. This journey is helping me build confidence and self-reliance. Today I thought about this journey as a metaphor for life. I have a lot of thinking time on my hands. I'll spare you the corny thoughts.
501 kilometers to Santiago, depending on which sign one reads.
I hope everyone is well.

Susan Be careful with that blister. Good idea to slow down for a few days. Tirzah ended up with an infected blister in Switzerland last summer (remember?) needed antibiotics and had to stay off her feet for a few days. love, Susan ps. love those "corny" thoughts... we all have them.
Neil The corny thoughts--and what is the origin of that expression anyway?--are the big human ones. That's an important part of our lives. Take care of yourself. I hope your blister issues are resolved quickly.
Judy So glad you are having an amazing time! Take care of that blister though. They can be very tricky. We love the updates, keep 'em coming!
robin ouchie!! be careful. hope you can get some good supplies to protect the area.(moleskin with a hole cut for blister is often the base.) you will have time to cover many topics in your head as you walk along!!! it is all part of the journey-enjoying your photos too! be safe.
Marla I'm very interested in the corny thoughts! It's great to be able to know a bit about your journey.
