Hello Zanzibar! Off on a new adventure - learning to dive... should be fun! So at the hideous hour of 4.45 we got up to make sure that Alice could catch her bus and me my plane. What we discovered was that for 'security reasons' we were locked in... interesting. Mum pointed out how great that would be in a fire... So we proceeded to wake up everyone else nearby will a bit of rattling of the door and calling out. We were finally released only to be told that getting a taxi from the road would be highly dangerous for muzungus such as ourselves. Anyway, we were escorted by the guard down to the road where we finally got a taxi, Alice made it to her bus and I caught my shuttle all in perfect time.

I am now in Stone town, Zanizbar. Its super hot here compared to the higher altitude parts we were in so I'm basically melting. The town itself is pretty cool, lots of old buildings and people to hassle you and offer you tours of all kinds and even to watch the sunset with you on the beach... how romantic!

During my getting lost in the millions of streets I found a dive centre and decided to do a course. There was one starting today so for the last few hours I have been watching some videos about how to make sure you do not make your brain/lungs explode underwater!
