Went to The Barracks Museum at Hyde Park today with Laura and Jenny. Learnt all about what the barracks were used for over the years. It started out as a place for the convicts, Irish orphaned girls who were shipped over when the famine was on in Ireland and was even used to house crazy old ladies at one point! Totally wanted to go to the jazz festival in Manly this weekend but the weather was really crap! Couldnt believe it how bad it was, reminded me very much of Scotland! Anyway, so I was gonna go with Becky (Liv) on Saturday but we were totally soaked within minutes so we gave up! Sunday I was working so couldnt go which left Monday. Went to the Olympic Park today where they had the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, with Becky(Liverpool) and Harriett. Wasnt the best day to choose cause it was so windy and we all had shorts and dresses on so we were frozen. Think it might hav been worse than Troon! Started my new job today in the Dunkirk Hotel, which is a pub btw its just what they call them here! I was only working 4 hours and it flew in cause it was so busy over lunch time! I really liked it tho and everyone seems friendly so hopefully I'll like it. Think I should be getting a minimum of 20 hours a week with hopefully more when people want time off, so it should suit me fine. Did have to buy new shoes and trousers for work.
