I have finished working with the dolphins, left Monkey Mia and am now in Tasmania!!

I absoultey loved working with the Dolphins, it was such a great experience!! On my first day there were 2 other volunteers and only 2 Dolphins came in for the 1st feed, one of them Piccolo, wasn't even interested in the fish! Then none of them came back for a 2nd or 3rd feed!! So it wasn't a very good first day. The dolphins get fed 3 times a day between 8 and 12 and its up to them if they come in or not, so each day can be very different! There are 5 Dolphins that get fed, Surprise, Piccolo, Puck, Nicky and Shock. The other 3 days that I worked I was the only volunteer! On my second morning all the feeding Dolphins came in for all 3 days which was typical. I enjoyed being the only volunteer as I got to be in the water with the Dolphins at all the feeds! Nicky is my favourite Dolphin as she is really playful when your next to her in the water. Piccolo is the naughtiest as she doesn't always want her fish. Jack came down on my last day and took some pictures for me!

On my last day in Monkey Mia Jack had the day off so we went for lunch in the restaurant and went for a paddle in the sea. In the evening we went on the sunset cruise on the Shotover, we never got round to doing it before. It was really good. I left Monkey Mia with Caroline from reception, in her campervan, one of the chefs Marc had quit so he came with us as well. We stayed in Geraldton on the way to Perth, we were going to stay at a backpackers but we didn't like the look of it, so we stayed at a caravan park in the van. I had tears in my eyes when I said goodbye to Jack but I think it was easier this time as I was leaving with someone I knew and I know that Jack and I are going to last.

The next morning we left Marc in Geraldton as he bought a car and we headed to Lanclin we didn't like the look of the caravan park there either so we drove down the road to a place called Ledge Point. It was a very posh caravan park! The facilities were really good. Then it was off to Perth! We went shopping when we got there and I was very good and didn't buy anything...... actually thats a lie I did I bought a $120 pair of jeans!! and 2 tops! We stayed at another caravan park that night, it was close to the airport as Caroline took me to the airport on Saturday morning. I got to Melbourne and it was cold and wet! I met a girl Yumi who I meet in Alice Springs and we went for lunch. I headed to the ferry terminal after that. I had a recliner chair on the ferry which wasn't too bad. I didn't sleep very well though, it was a bit rough! I got to Tasmania at 7am and the hostel I had booked in to had left the key out for me so I could check myself in and have a sleep. It took me ages to find the key, I was starting to think that they hadn't left one at all!! I went in to the hostel and there was a strange lady in the lounge room, who happened to be in my room!! I was having a sleep and a young boy came in asking if I wanted coffee!! It freaked me out a bit I wondered where the hell I was! He came back in later asking if I wanted to go for a walk!! could he not see that I was trying to sleep! He was friends with the strange lady which figures!

I got up about lunchtime and went for a walk, on my own! I went in to Devonport town which was about a 40 minute walk! I had a look around and invested in a scarf and gloves as it was FREEZING!!! I haven't worn a scarf since I left home!! I found a pizza hut so had a yummy pizza I hadn't had one for ages! I wasn't rushing going back as I knew what was waiting for me!! I finally got back about 5! I was knackered. The kid came and pestered me again. I went to IGA and he came with me! He kept looking at me and I was sure he was trying to hold my hand, so I put my hands in my pocket! He asked if I had a boyfriend!! I shook him off and said that I was going to phone Jack!! When I got back he asked if I wanted to watch a film! I said no i'm having a shower and going to bed, i'm surprised he didn't try to follow me!! He wasn't even staying at the hostel so god know's why he was there and how he knows the strange lady!! I can't believe how cold it is here!! I hope it warms up otherwise I wont be here long!!

I am now in Launceston, I only stayed in Devonport one night, thankfully! I went for a walk when I got here as I couldn't check in straight away. There's a few things I want to do here so may stay a few days. I went on a cruise around Cataract Gorge in the afternoon, it was really nice. Going to do a walk to the main part of the Gorge tomorrow and there is a chairlift you can go on which takes you over the Gorge!
