Heeeey peeps!!
Well today is sunday and posibly our last day in Chiang Mai.We have now been here for 7 days and our thinking about going to Laos next.Up until 2 hrs ago we were going to catch a train down south tomorrow and sample some of the fine beaches Thailand has to offer. But this morning we went out and took a Thai cooking class.Has been a really good day!! First we all get taken to the market to explain about the ingredients we will be using and what can be used, then drive out of town to the chefs house. There was 11 of us cooking in total. We all had our own cooking station and all our ingredients were given to us when we needed them for each dish by staff. The first dish was Tom Yung Soup, spicy but nice!I had prawn and chicken in mine and kieran had chicken.Next was stir fry veg in a wonderful sauce.Chef taught us how to give it a smokey taste that had a bit of action to it.Mind you being rather dangerous. If done at home there would most proberly be a fire.(we have filmed it so you can see) Next dish was curry, i did the green curry and kieran cooked pung nang. The green wasnt that nice, but the pung nang was gorgeous, really creamy. We put that to one side and then cooked pad thai. This dish was fried noodles with veg and egg.The best one all day.We all then sat at a table and ate our curry and pad thai.At this point everyone was very full and kinda sleepy. Just like you are after xmas dinner.lol. after dinner we all sat around as the chef taught us how to make papaya salad and sticky rice with mango. That was gorgeous also.Only by then it was so hard to put in another mouthfull of food. The chef gave us all a recipe book with everything we had made and many more dishes. We also walked round his garden while he showed us more veg that he grows for cooking....All in all has been a really nice day.The day cost 11 pounds including everything and transfers. On the way back to our hostel we spoke to a few people that have just arrived from Laos and have said how amazing it is.As we can go out of Thailand and come back in we have come to the internet to try and plan our nxt lil journey. Its been around 30- 32.c the last few days and will be like this for the next week!, lol.Its quite hard to belive it is october!! As you can proberly tell we still havent been able to upload any pics.Which is really annoying as we have so many to post, but hopefully we will be able to soon.Thank you again everyone for our msges and mails, as always very appreciated . Speak again soon!! lots of love Kie and han x x x
