Heeelllooo,
Chiang Mai is where we be.We checked out of our hostel on sat but kept our bags there so we could go to the famous weekend market held up town. The market was soO big has over 8000 stalls!! 8000!! needless to say we got no where near seeing it all but we saw a bit.We were there for about 3-4 hours we both bough ourslefs a lil somthing then headed back to the hostel to get our bags and made our way to the station. The train was due to leave at 7.35pm and we got there at 6.30 nice and early we boarded the train and it didnt end up leaving until 8.30, lol.The caridges were sleepers,There was two seats at the bottom that turned out to be a bed and there was one at the top.Kinda like bunk beds. Kie slept on the bottom and i had the top.The train line was rather rigety, we both got in our beds about 11-12 all the way i think i must of slept in 30min intervals. The bits that joins the carridges made so mush noise, sounded like someone trying to play a violin for the first time.Plus every time we passed a village the train honked its horn long and hard.I didnt know it was the train saying hi, i just kept getting visions of another train on the track and we were going to collide with it.lol Think ive watched to many action films. We ended up arriving in Chiang Mai around 10.30am so lil bit later than expected...It is really nice here though, less humid, less traffic.Mountains in our view and genrally a nicer place. Our hostal here is also very nice, its a twin room each bed just under a double.Onsuite and situated just about 10 min walk from the centre. The owner is really helpfull, he got out a map and pointed out everying to do and see. Last night we went to the sunday market they have here , not quite as big as Bangkoks but alot more pleasant and each stall is different.Near the end of the night the night the heavens opened and just absolutely poored down.We took some cover for about 15min then decided to get a tuk tuk (bike taxi with carridge on the back) back to our hostel. It was quite cosey almost like riding in a mobile tent, the driver had eagels playing wich was also really good!
Today we went down town and played a lil game of mini golf, kie won 58- 79 lol. Then on our way back through town we spotted a place that did hair braiding so we went in to enquire.I decided to get it done, they said it would take two hrs but thats before they knew how big my hair was.4 hrs later i now have blue and blond braides, looks quite funny.Weve just had a delicious tea kieran had chicken and cashews with rice and i had chicken, veg and fried noodles with a drink each for 1.50. were now in here in the internet cafe.Tomorrow we are doing a 3day and two night treck up in the hills.Aparently we spend the first night in a camp then the second night we stay with tribes people. We will get to ride elephants and raft down the river back to the start. Were both really looking forward to it.Hopefully get loads of pics to show you all.Weve both still got another cd of photos to upload puls a whole load more. Will get round to it soon!! well we best be off.
Speak to you all in a few days, thank you all for your messages and mails as always very much appreciated!! x x x x x x bye byes for now x x x x x x x x x Kie and Han
