Hi folks!
Just a little update before we head off to oz.We've spent about a fortnight in total in Blenheim- drunk most nights on amazing wine and doing a lot of diving for our open water scuba thingy mabob.
Really enjoyed the diving, the open sea is amazing, all the weird and wonderful fish, starfish, shells - we even saw some sea cucumbers and a seahorse, pretty amazing.
We were going to go for about a week up to the north island but the ferry across the cook straight to get there was going to cost us about 200pounds. That's about a fortnight's budget so we scrapped that!
Instead we headed North West to the top most point of the south island and spent a few days in Abel Tasman national park - an amazing place with deserted beaches, lovely walks and forest paths .We slept one night under a bridge (literally! But in the car!) which had the clearest river ever - we swam as the sun went down, ateourselves to a standstill and i polished off a bottle of wine - hot enough to stay in a t-shirt until we went to sleep - amazing.
We also popped down to Hanmer springs - thermal pools a bit further south where you pay a couple of pounds and wander round a resort through pools from 25 degrees up to 40ish - they smelled strongly of sulphur and weird body odours!! Good fun though!
So now we're back in Blenheim for a few days, finishing off the dives and saying goodbye to mum. On Thursday we fly to Sydney -staying there for about a week to get our china visas sorted and hopefully sort out some work for a month or so- we shall see!
