Saturday 15th August - Whitby Abbey Part of the bus tour took us to the top of the town opposite the side of the harbour that we are staying on over the new bridge. At the top of the hill we got off the Tour Bus and entered the shop and enter way to the Abbey. Our English Heritage cards got us in for nothing and with our audio guides we traipsed our way around the Abbey Grounds. Whitby Abbey goes back to 657AD and was originally been settled by the Danes....

Saturday 15th August - Whitby Today dawned sunny and a far cry from the previous day. We didn't know that there was a regatta week on that started this morning and because of this there are thousands of people about. The yachts moved out of the harbour basin to race about 8.30am. Friday 14th August - Whitby The drive from Scarborough to Whitby was not very nice as the fog was very thick and at times we could not see the car in front just the pin p**** of the red lights. Friday 14th York to Whitby It rained heavily most of last night and when we awoke it had stopped but was overcast and grey. After breakfast we packed up and left York bound for Scarborough for morning coffee. Thursday 12th August late pm - Day 2 York The York Wall. Well even though we had sore legs and feet we headed up the stairs onto the wall opposite the Art Gallery.
