Friday 18th September - Arles
The drive to Arles only took us about 1 hour but when we got there we had to negotiate all of these little narrow streets to get to our B&B. Thank goodness for the GPS that is installed in the car and is excellent with instructions. Much better than our GPS at home.
Anyway we stopped at number 8 "Just on the left" as the GPS said and rapped on the big wooden door. It was answered and the chap said No No and pointed to the next door which was also number 8.
He owners, Jean and Marie, met us with much enthusiasm and we unloaded the bags. Jean immediately said he would take me to park the car as we were in the middle of the little road and there was a car waiting to get passed.
Round a few streets and over the bridge over the River Rhone and we did find a park and Jean coxed me into it with sensors in both the front and back bumpers beeping away, I parked with only 300mm to spare front and back. The car is ok there until we need to go and pick it up to travel on to Montpellier.
But hold on if we had parked closer to the B&B then tomorrow because there is a market in the whole area our car would have been towed away!! Deja Vu.
