Thursday 30th August
We have a free day today so we all have a long lie-in. I book a horse trek for the afternoon and try to sort out my onward flights at Lan Peru. I sit in a cafe looking out over the Plaza and watch a parade leave the Basilica carrying an efigee of the Madonna accompanied by a marching band and lots of men in uniform.
Next it's off to San Blas which is the artisans district. It's a lovely area with lots of arts and crafts for sale.
I head off to go horse trekking and find myself presented with a horse and told I have to ride one handed. So I take the reins in one hand and am told to hit the horse with the rope in my other hand on his behind. Hmm - it looks easier than it is. My guide takes me to a Temple of the Moon which is a cave which the moon illuminates when it's full.
In the evening we have our last meal together before Jules leaves us tomorrow. It's very sad as we've formed a great bond.
