Kerry and Rick - On Tour
We took a 20 hour bus journey south from BA to Puerto Madryn, a small seaside town by the sea. Its very pretty and quite small so its a lovely place to stroll around. It was really cold though, halfway down to Antartica. As soon as we arrived we rented some bikes and cycled 20kms and back out to a beach where we got to see some Ballena and Orca whales.
There was about 10 of them swimming about 5 meters off the shore. Amazing to see so many so close. They are gigantic. The next day we headed out to another beach, Punto Lomo (by taxi this time ;) to see some Elephant Seals. These guys are also huge and quite funny to observe. Puerto Madryn is definetly worth the visit. Theres nothing like seeing a whale everytime you look out to sea.
