After a sleepless 13 hour flight from Tokyo,we arrived in LA to beautiful blue skys, palm trees, edible food and most importantly, English speaking people! It´s a great city to stop over in and despite being awake for over 30 hours and having a 16 hour time change, we were able to enjoy the Santa Monica area where we stayed.

I think we got the highlights in....the beach, pier, seeing Route 101, seeing enough plastic and peroxide to last til the end of our trip, deli sandwiches and Jamba juice! And to top it all off, I got to relive the good old days with a trip to Johnny Rockets :o) There was a great atmosphere too as it was the 5th July and the party vibe was still in the air. But my favourite thing about LA was being able to explain in English to my hairdresser how I wanted my hair cut.

Would have liked to have stayed an extra few days but it was back to the airport
for our flight to Lima. But we´ll definitely be back!
