We had to get up early this morning (5:30 am) to catch the shuttle to the airport for our flight to Seoul. Neither of us can believe our time in Japan is over, but we are looking forward to Korea and meeting up with Christine's mom, as well as Rick & Jessica.
The flight was on time and after clearing South Korean immigration and customs we got in our pre-arranged taxi (the first time I've ever had someone waiting for me at the arrival gate with my name on a placard!) and headed to our hotel in downtown Seoul.
We arrived at the hotel and had to wait a couple minutes for Doren, Rick and Jessica to come back from a little bit of sightseeing before we could get checked in and settled. We headed down for some lunch and then badly needed to do some laundry, so the 5 of us headed out to Itaewon find a Laundromat, a search that turned out to be futile!
Once we had given up on the Laundromat idea, we decided to browse some of the shops in the area and then take the subway home. The subway was not quite as crazy as Tokyo's and Jessica knew her way around, for the most part, so we got back to the hotel without any difficulty, other than the major hill and steps that we had to walk up to get up to the hotel.
Since we hadn't found a Laundromat, we had to do a bunch of laundry in our sink before we headed down to the hotel buffet for dinner, since both of us needed clothes for our Jeju trip tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be dry!
Off to bed as we have a VERY early morning tomorrow as we have a 6:40 am flight to Jeju Island, the 'Hawaii' of Korea!
