We spent the 3rd visiting several of the many museums that are in Washington...American Indian, Natural History, American History and Air and Space. In the American History Museum we saw the Star Spangled Banner which is a particular enormous flag that flew over one of the battlefields in the war of 1812 and was the original inspiration for the National Anthem.

Weather has been fine but extremely hot with more storms expected. 4th of July should be a big day here ... There are massive preparations happening in the National Mall.
